Aromatherapy

Practitioner: Debbie Macwhirter

The origins of Aromatherapy can be traced as far back as ancient Egypt, although its uses are well known throughout the world (until recently, Rosemary and Thyme were used in French hospitals to ward off infections). Aroma-therapy simply put is the use of pure essential plant oils, extracted in several different ways, to treat a wide variety of complaints in an holistic way (ie that of treating the body as a whole, rather than the individual symptoms presented).Aromatherapy

Probably the most effective way of doing this is through massage. By applying the oil to the skin it can reach the whole of a person through the senses to the brain and through the skin to the Lymphatic system. Each essential oil has its own unique properties that can help a specific problem, from the physical to the emotional, helping to relax both the mind and the body.

Aromatherapy can help with so many problems from stress, depression, headaches, and general aches and pains, to skin problems, IBS and many more.

Regular treatments can be effective with all the above symptoms and can also de-stress and detoxify the body as a whole.
